Carving Pumpkins

Pumpkin carving is a fall tradition. Heading over to the pumpkin patch, trudging through the vines and the dirt, and then spotting the pumpkin that will sit in your home for the next couple of weeks can be a momentous event. The big question is, what kind of pumpkin should you get?

Modern Farmer advises that you choose pumpkins that are far from decay. The sturdiness of stems and the gourd will tell you just how “fresh” your pumpkin is. Once you have your pumpkin, it’s time to choose just how to turn it into a jack-o-lantern. Painting, stenciling, and of course carving are all options.

Pop Sugar has 35+ Ways to Decorate Pumpkins without Carving. We particularly like the version where sharpies are used to create elaborate designs.

We think pumpkins are all kinds of fun. We hope you do, too. Happy Halloween to everyone in our apartment community here at The View at Mill Run.
